In Zukowo check out the historic, 12th-century Norbertine Nunnery building. In Chmielno visit The Museum of Kashubian Pottery where are pottery utensils decorated with a characteristic Kashubian motifs.
The people of the region are known for their handicraft products, such as embroidery and pottery. The people living in the vicinity speak Kashubian, a sort of hybrid of Polish and German. However, due to strict language categories, it is not considered a dialect, even though an average Pole cannot understand this language at all.
